ATEX mobile lifting solutions for Hazardous environments

Available on request and subject to feasibility check according to the ATEX directive

Flex Lifting cranes can be converted to operate in hazardous environments such as chemical and petrochemical plants, oil and gas extraction sites, mining operations, and tunnel construction or maintenance areas. These are sectors where safety, reliability, and compliance with international standards are essential.

ATEX Certification on Demand

ATEX-certified versions of our cranes are available on request for use in areas classified as at risk of explosion. We supply models that are compliant with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and meet the requirements of specific standards for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres.

These cranes can be configured for operation in:

  • Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas): where explosive atmospheres caused by gases, vapours, or mists may be present.
  • Zone 21 and Zone 22 (dust): where explosive atmospheres may result from combustible dust during normal operation.

Each ATEX-certified unit is provided with full documentation, including:

  • Declaration of Conformity
  • Explosion Protection Documentation
  • User and Maintenance Manual with ATEX-specific instructions

Technical Characteristics

The ATEX-certified cranes we supply are specifically designed to ensure safe operation in environments with a risk of explosion. The electrical systems are fully sealed to prevent the infiltration of gases or dust, and all key components—such as batteries, connectors, sensors, and control units—are ATEX-approved. To minimize the risk of ignition, both from electrical and mechanical sources, the cranes are manufactured using components and materials that limit surface temperature and eliminate spark risks. These key factors ensure that the cranes can operate reliably and safely even in highly regulated explosive zones, while maintaining durability and functionality under demanding conditions.
